The Department of Gastroenterology at St. Vincent’s Hospital provides a comprehensive range of consultative and diagnostic procedures in gastroenterology. It has a particular interest in chronic viral hepatitis and other liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, therapeutic endoscopy, oesophageal disorders and functional gut disorders.

Our clinic offers a comprehensive approach to managing functional gastrointestinal disorders, blending the expertise of gastroenterologists, pelvic floor physiotherapists, dietitians, clinical nurse specialists, gut-focused hypnotherapists, and psychiatrists.

Under the guidance of a Gastroenterologist and clinical nurse specialist, patients receive coordinated care. We specialise in addressing a range of functional gut disorders, including:

  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Constipation
  • Faecal incontinence
  • Bloating
  • Functional dyspepsia
  • Belching & rumination

Please note that patients must have an up-to-date referral, and only those with Medicare coverage are accommodated.
